ABOUT US

A New Breed of Rotary

The Rotary Club of Orewa-Millwater is a dynamic and innovative community service organisation. We are committed to making a positive impact both locally and globally. Founded in 2021 through the merger of the Rotary Club of Orewa and the Rotary Satellite Club of Orewa-Millwater, our club brings together a diverse group of passionate individuals who share a common goal: to serve others and create lasting change.

We believe in the power of direct action. Our members are actively involved in various community projects, from volunteering at local charities to organising community events. Additionally, we support initiatives around the world through Rotary International, addressing pressing issues such as poverty, disease, and environmental sustainability. We are an inclusive club open to everyone who shares our passion for service and community engagement.

A Global Force for Positive Change

Rotary International is a global network of over 1.2 million volunteers dedicated to making a positive impact on the world. Our members are passionate about solving real problems and creating lasting change. For over 110 years, we have been working together to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, save mothers and children, support education, grow local economies, and protect the environment.

We believe that everyone has the potential to make a difference, and we encourage our members to get involved in the projects and initiatives that are most meaningful to them. Our mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. Together, we strive to create a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change

Supporting Our Community

The Rotary Club of Orewa-Millwater organises a variety of fundraising events throughout the year to support local community groups. These events range from small-scale gatherings to large-scale celebrations, providing opportunities for our members and the community to come together and make a difference.

Through our fundraising efforts, we have been able to support a wide range of initiatives, including those focused on health, education, and environmental sustainability.

Our club is proud to manage two charitable trusts that benefit our local community. Through our charitable trusts, such as the Laurie Parker Trust and the Rotary House Trust, we provide financial support to local organisations and initiatives.

Our Trusts

Rotary House Trust

The Rotary House Trust is another valuable asset to our community. This building, located in Silverdale near the rugby club, is leased out for commercial purposes. The rental income from the Rotary House Trust is used to generate funds for the club, and a portion of the profits are distributed to local community groups. These grants help to support a variety of community projects and initiatives.

Laurie Parker Trust

The Laurie Parker Trust is dedicated to supporting organisations that provide assistance to individuals with heart-related issues. Funds from this trust are distributed annually to deserving groups in our area. Interested organisations can apply for grants to support their programs and initiatives.

Applying for funding

By supporting these trusts, the Rotary Club of Orewa-Millwater is making a significant contribution to the well-being of our community. To apply for funding, please submit a proposal outlining your organisation's mission, goals, and how the funding will be used to benefit the community. Applications can be submitted online or by mail. For more information and to access the application form, please visit our website or contact our club secretary.
